The Beijing Tourism Global Distribution Partnership Summit (GDP) was held in Beijing by the Beijing Municipal Commission of Tourism Development with support from the Beijing Capital International Airport and Air China. The summit aimed to strengthen Beijing's ties with the international tourism industry, as well as promoting the development of Beijing's inbound tourism trade. More than 30 well-known overseas travel agencies and 40 global business leaders, experts, and researchers were present. In conjunction, the 2018 China Incentive, Business Travel and Meetings Exhibition (IBTM China) had taken place from 12th to 13th September, attracting more than 300 exhibitors from 30 regional and 20 international destinations.

To facilitate globalization and foreign exchange, the Beijing Municipal Government implemented a series of measures such as special funding for inbound tourism awards, "MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions)" tourism award funds, overseas tax refunds for tourists, the 144-Hour Visa-Free Transit Policy and promotion of "The Reform and Opening-up Policy".

Consequently, Beijing will play host to the World Horticulture Expo in 2019, the World Leisure Conference in 2020, and the Winter Olympics and Paralympics Games in 2022.
