The main religions in Sri Lanka are Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam, Catholicism, Tamil and so on. Every religion has its own communities; people who have same religions live in the same areas forming their respectively independent religion culture.
The numbers of people practicing these religions are as follows: Buddhism (69.3%), Hinduism (15.4%), Muslim (7.6%), Catholicism (6.9%), other Christians (0.7%), others (0.1%).
