Xi’an-Chengdu High-Speed Rail Line Unveiling Activities Launched

On Dec 6, 2017, the long-anticipated Xi’an-Chengdu high-speed rail has officially entered service. The promotional activities organized by Xi’an municipal government was launched at Xi’an North Railway Station. Supervisiors from Guangyuan, Foping, Yang County, which are all situated along the high speed rail, and 400 reprensentatives from nearly 50 tourism companies attend the promotional activity.

On Dec 6, 2017, the long-anticipated Xi’an-Chengdu high-speed rail has officially entered service. The promotional activities organized by Xi’an municipal government was launched at Xi’an North Railway Station. Supervisiors from Guangyuan, Foping, Yang County, which are all situated along the high speed rail, and 400 reprensentatives from nearly 50 tourism companies attend the promotional activity.

As the first high-speed rail to cross the Qinling Mountain Range, the Xi’an-Chengdu high-speed rail line will make the term “The road to Sichuan is difficult” a thing of the past. The travel time and distance from Chengdu to Xi’an has been greatly shortened. It also means that another large capacity and high density main transportation channel has been added for the Northeast area to Southwest area. It will play an important role in strenthening the communicaiton and corperation between Guantian Economic Zone and Chengyu Economic Zone and improve the development of the area’s economy and travel quality. Chengdu and Xi’an will form the one-day economic zone which is a good news for Xi’an’s tourism industry.

It is foreseeable that as the Xi’an-Chengdu high-speed rail line acts a connection of key passenger source and tourist destination link between Xi'an and Chengdu, more tourists will be travelling to the cities along the route.
