On May 31, 2019 Tour of Taiyuan Road Cycling Race & International Bike Week closed in Taiyuan, Shanxi Province, China.
During the six-day furious race, twenty men's teams from 11 countries and regions successfully passed six stages, including Taiyuan stage, the Great Wall stage, Mt. Wutai stage, Mt. Taihang stage, the Yellow River stage, and Pingyao Ancient City stage. The six stages cover a distance of 730 km, and the total transit distance is about 2400 km.
Cameron (in yellow), member of Team Illuminate (US), won the first prize with the highest personal total score. David (in polka-dot jersey), member of Team Novo Nordisk (US), was the best climber in the race. Martin (in green), member of Team Illuminate (US), won the sprint championship. King Lok (in white), member of HKSI Pro Cycling Team, won the first place among all the Chinese competitors.
Li Xiaobo, Mayor of Taiyuan Municipality, said that it was the first time for Taiyuan to hold the International Road Cycling Race, and Taiyuan would hold more sessions of the race in the future. The local government is planning to build Tour of Taiyuan Road Cycling Race into a world-class international road cycling race. Zhao Xiaochun, Director of the Sport Bureau of Shanxi Province, said that the race was a new platform that had promoted the mutual-communication between Shanxi and the world.
