Zoulu Festival is a special festival of the Tuwa people of the lakeside of Kanas Lake. It is celebrated on October 25th of the lunar calendar and on this day, the herdsmen will return to their village. This is a date to commemorate their Buddha Mahekala. According to folk tales, Mahekala died on October 25th of his 125th year. The people will collect and light local cypress and pray to pass the winter smoothly. After the ceremony, they will go home and light oil lamps.
