As a very important festival in Morocco, the start date of the festival is not certain, and usually, it lasts for 2 months. During the occasion, family members would come and celebrate the festival together.

Two weeks before the festival, the street will be filled with festive atmosphere; the makeshift supply points, which sells sheep, greeting the arrival of the festival.

During the festival, you are able to see people preparing for the festival. The street is lined up with trucks transporting sheep, with people shopping for the ideal sheep. All the sheep are marked by owners. Usually, the buyers would keep the sheep for a while at home, then, on the special day, they will ask a professional to prepare the sheep.

On the day of the festival, there is no sight of the sheep in the market. However, everywhere on the streets, people are waving knives and you can see the freshly peeled off skins hanging along the way.
