In ancient times, Chinese silk was distributed from Chang’an to the west of Asia and European countries, passing by Hexi Corridor and Xinjiang. Since 2000, Xi'an municipal government hosted “The silk road international tourism festival” and officially set to hold the event annually in August. The ceremony will devote to a visual feast to visitors by various kinds of performances, such as dance, sing, fork symphony, dance-drama and so on. The festival will last for a month, including 43 activities such as: tourism cooperation, business negotiation, sports game, high-end forum, cultural heritage exhibition and so on. During the period, the host will send “Dunhuang Card” to visitors for free, which enable visitors enjoy discount for travelling in Xi’an.
