Oct 25: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Oct 24, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 15 new cases of confirmed infections (all were imported cases, 5 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Liaoning province, 3 in Guangdong province, 2 in Shanxi province, 1 in Tianjin municipality and 1 in Shaanxi province), 1 new case of suspected infections (an imported case in Shanghai), and no deaths.

On Oct 24, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 15 new cases of confirmed infections (all were imported cases, 5 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Liaoning province, 3 in Guangdong province, 2 in Shanxi province, 1 in Tianjin municipality and 1 in Shaanxi province), 1 new case of suspected infections (an imported case in Shanghai), and no deaths. 15 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 886 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remained unchanged.

As of 24:00 on Oct 24, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 3,228 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 2,974 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 254 confirmed cases (including 2 cases in serious condition) and 5 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Oct 24, the National Health Commission had received reports of 85,790 confirmed cases and 4,634 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 80,891 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 265 confirmed cases (including 3 cases in serious condition) and 5 suspected cases. 850,196 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 7,871 were still under medical observation.

On Oct 24, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 19 new asymptomatic cases (including 18 imported cases). 17 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (all were imported cases) and 1 (imported case) became a confirmed case. As of 24:00 on Oct 24, 405 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 403 imported cases).
