Viharamahadevi Park

Viharamahadevi Park is located on the north side of the Independence Square, which is the largest park in Colombo. The park was built by the British people.

Viharamahadevi Park is located on the north side of the Independence Square, which is the largest park in Colombo. The park was built by the British people. After the Independence of Sri Lanka, in order to commemorate the king Dutugemunu’s mother the name was changed to Viharamahadevi Park. The Colombo town hall is on the eastern side of the park, Museum of Art is on the south, the famous Gangalama Temple is not far away from the north. Now it is a good place for the local people.
