Once the residence of Nepal's Royal family, Kathmandu Durbar Square means the square of imperial palace. It is the World Cultural Inheritage Site and may be the most characteristic square in the world both religiously and culturally. The bustle and hustle the Square used to witness is beyond imagination.The palace is an amalgamation of eastern and western architecture with additions by Rana and Shah Rulers over the centuries.Most parts of the palace premises are open to tourists throughout the week.
