The crowds of people and the buzzing activity add to the captivating atmosphere of Toronto’s downtown Chinatown. Elegantly stroked Chinese characters grace store and street signs. East Asian shops and markets with exotic fruits and vegetables spill onto the sidewalk.

Along with shopping for electronics and produce, Chinatown prides itself on the wide variety of authentic Asian restaurants. There is a bountiful selection of Chinese, Thai, Japanese, and Vietnamese restaurants.

If you’re lucky enough to be in Toronto for the Chinese New Year, the area comes even more alive with spectacular decorations, dancing dragons, and endless amounts of food that accompany the festivities each year.
