On the northwest edge of town is the Parc du Banco rainforest reserve. It has very pleasant walking trails, majestic trees and a lake. Converted in 1926, this park has 3,000 hectares which has been conserved as a relic of the first forest which surrounded the lagoon in the past. The park is inhabited and there are coffee and cocoa plantations.
