Amalienborg is regarded as one of the greatest masterpieces of the Danish Rococco architecture, which was built in 18th century. Amalienborg consists of four identical building compositions: Christian VII palace, Christian VIII palace, palace of Frederick VIII, and Christian IX palace. Now visitors can visit two of the four palaces: Christian VIII Palace (part of museum Glücksburg), the royal family Christine and VII Palace (the queen for receptions and official representative). The central courtyard has a Frederick V King’s equestrian statue; the statue is believed to be one of the best equestrian statues. Frederick V died in 1766; this statue was finished in 1771.
