It is located in the northern section of Valletta. This fort was built by the Knights of St John from 1670-1693 and used as a fortification. Later, it was used as a barricade during the British colonial period. After the British troops retreated, this fortress was abandoned. The National War Museum was built nearby. Currently, only the Museum is open, other places are not open to the public.
