In 2016, Kanas Scenic Area received 1.413 million domestic and overseas tourists and the total revenue of its tourism industry reached 2.24 billion RMB. After many years of development and construction, Kanas has already become the top leader of Xinjiang’s tourism industry and has been granted the important mission of building up the “reception room” representing all of Xinjiang’s people.

During the Spring Festival, Altay’s Kanas Scenic Area Administrative Committee will send invitations with the theme of “Come to Kanas to Celebrate the Spring Festival, Visit Snow-Covered Hemu Village to Celebrate an Original 2017 New Year Together” to Beijing and other city’s residents. During this year’s winter, Kanas Scenic Area will build the tourism brand of “Kanas National Ice and Snow Park,” featuring the “Xun Lang Ji (A step into the lives of wolves)” activity which targets high-end consumers advocating “wolf” culture and the “Visit Snow-Covered Hemu Village to Celebrate an Original New Year” activity featuring Tuvan culture of Mongolia. In addition, Kanas scenic area has also launched many types of cultural, sports and recreational products, such as building of the “rime corridor,” Fairy Bay, Hukou Chenguang (morning views of the lake entrance) and other photography and sightseeing products in Kansas River Valley.
