Air Bridges for the Economic Development of Tourism Destinations

Tourism is a social activity concerning all economic aspects. This also decides that tourism development will promote the diversified development of destinations. In 2018, Air China continued to speed up the construction of a Beijing-centered global air route network by launching the Beijing-Houston-Panama City route on April 5 which operates every Thursday and Sunday, the Beijing-Copenhagen non-stop route on May 30 which operates four times per week and the Beijing-Hanoi route on June 1 which operates four times per week. The launch of the new routes in the context of the slowdown in the growth of international routes and the gradual recovery of business travel shows the confidence of Air China in continuing to develop steadily and soundly in 2018, will undoubtedly promote the building of Air China into an internationally competitive network-based airline, and will build an air bridge for the economic development of tourism destinations.

Air Bridges for the “Belt and Road”

The advancement of the national "Belt and Road" strategy has created a new opportunity for the constant extension of Air China's air route network, and boosted the construction of Air China's international network. In recent years, Air China has implemented the "Belt and Road" strategy, and fixed the idea of constructing the core hub in Beijing and the regional hub in Chengdu, building an international gateway in Shanghai, focusing on European and American markets, and extending Asia, Africa and Oceania routes.

Air China will launch the Beijing-Phnom Penh route on September 3, 2018. Phnom Penh is a political, economic, cultural, religious and transportation center in Cambodia. The Pochentong International Airport in the suburbs 8 kilometers southwest of Phnom Penh can accommodate large

aircrafts, and operate flights to Battambang, Siem Reap, Kompong Chhnang and other cities in the world. Many tourists bound for Thailand transfer here. The launch of the air routes will facilitate China-Thailand cooperation in energy, transport, tourism, culture, economic trade and other fields.

As China's only national flag carrier, Air China will continue to build more convenient air bridges for the "Belt and Road" and other national strategies while implementing national strategies, performing social responsibility and growing strong.

Shared Cooperation Experience and Learned from Each Other

While continuously speeding up the Beijing-centered global air route network, Air China has advanced intercontinental routes in key cities. As an institutional member of the WTCF and Secretary-General of the Committee of Civil Aviation of the WTCF, Air China is committed to carrying out extensive exchanges and cooperation with members under the leadership of the WTCF and the guidance of the core concept of "landing with dreams", in a bid to promote the sustained growth of tourism.

Air China and the WTCF shared cooperation experience and learned from each other at irregular tourism promotion conferences, to further advance win-win practical tourism cooperation. Through the WTCF and its sound global network, Air China has kept expanding cooperation and exchanges among tourism cities, and achieved the goal of "resource sharing, advantage complementation and win-win".
