with all kinds of food stalls. Different from the food stalls in China, the food stalls in Penang are in order and lively. You won’t find any garbage on the streets. Apparently it is a long traditional maintained by the local people.

There are many famous streets packed full of food stalls such as Chulia Street, Lebuh Kimberley, New Lane, and Red Garden. Neither of these choices will be wrong because there are so many kinds of delicious food, like Nasi ayam chicken rice, Char Koey Teow, wanton noodles, Satay, Bak Kut The, Mee Kari, Nasi Lemak and Prawn Mee. However, not everyone can enjoy all the local taste here, for example, I can’t eat Satay.

Durian

Durian is one of the cannot miss foods in Penang which can subvert your traditional image of durian. The durian in Penang smells different; it smells good with its sweet scent. There are many species of durian in Penang, all with different prices. The durian season is from May to August, and if you really like durian, you don’t want to miss it.

Activities in Penang

During the stay in Penang, we did the same thing every day, find the wall paintings. From Marilyn Monroe to Mr. Bean; from big cat to small cat; the child on bike or motorbike, every wall painting gives you a nostalgic feeling from your childhood. The first wall painting in Penang was painted by Ernest Zacharevic, an artist from Lithuania. After that more and more artists participated which eventually helped to create a strong atmosphere of art in city which has now become a landscape. Different from the traditional 2D pictures, the wall paintings in Penang fuses the local culture with the imagination of artists.

The other choice of activity in Penang during the night will be sitting in a bar. The price here is much lower and affords a comfortable atmosphere. The only scenic spot we visited was Chew Jetty, an early Chinese community in Penang. The day that we visit happened to be a holiday of Malaysia so lots of people that
